Lesson of the day: Don’t go for late night walks along the beach.
Jedward were part of a dramatic rescue mission after being trapped by a rising tide while walking along a sandbank in Dublin’s Malahide with their cousin.
The 22-year-old twins immediately rang their mum Suzanne at around 10.45pm on Tuesday night, panicked, as they could no longer see a way off the sand as the tide came in around them.
Quick thinking Suzanne was left terrified for the boys’ safety and immediately rang the coastguard.
A helicpopter and crew were quickly sent out and spotted the boys and their cousin a short while later.
And we can confirm that the twins’ magnificent hair dos remained dry throughout the ordeal.
Speaking to The Sun about the harrowing experience John (or maybe it was Edward) said: “What we want to get across is how quickly this all happened. This got out of hand before we even realised.”
A bit like their progression on the X Factor live shows really…
He added; “We would urge young people to be very careful around water and the sea. This could have been a tragedy but for the good work of the Coast Guard.”
Mum Suzanne also told the paper: “It was terrifying for the boys. They ended up on shifting sands completely surrounded by water.
“The Coast Guard got them out at around 1am. I was beside myself, and John and Edward were very badly shaken.”
Well we’re just glad Jedward are A-OK. Now get back to the recording studio pronto, boys.
