On Nov. 1, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and others will debut their new Apple TV+ show, “The Morning Show.” Due to the fact that she is promoting the new project, the former “Friends” actress has been doing quite a few interviews lately, and one, in particular, has struck a nerve with fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
When speaking to Variety about the series, which is set to take a look inside the world of a popular news program as they navigate various changes and issues that they face in the workplace, she was asked why she decided to return to television after her long hiatus.
“It wasn’t until the last couple of years when these streaming services were just sort of exploding with this amount of quality that I actually started to think, ‘Wow, that’s better than what I just did,’” the actress said.
Continuing, she added, “And then you’re seeing what’s available out there and it’s just diminishing and diminishing in terms of, it’s big Marvel movies. Or things that I’m not just asked to do or really that interested in living in a green screen.”

Aniston’s critical comments follow a hectic battle that the superhero franchise recently faced regarding Spider-Man’s future. Previously, it was reported that the Stan Lee-created character may be exiting the MCU due to an issue surrounding a financing deal. This, of course, worried Peter Parker fans, but eventually, everything was ironed out, charting a positive course for the superhero moving forward.
“The Morning Show” will premiere on Apple TV+ on Nov. 1.
