Jennifer Aniston Slams ‘Painful’ Claims That She’s Too ‘Selfish’ And ‘Career-Driven’ To Have Children

The course of Jennifer Aniston‘s love life hasn’t exactly been as smooth as silk, has it? From whether or not she’s pregnant to whether or not her and Angelina Jolie hate each other, Jen’s probably been hit by every single rumour out there.

Now, she’s FINALLY spoken out to defend herself, hitting back at those incessant and ‘hurtful’ rumours that she’s ‘too selfish’ to have children of her own.

Say WHUT!?

Yup, the gorge 45-year-old former Friends actress has finally told her side of the story over these ridiculous rumours, and has slammed the pressure on women to procreate and start their own family.

Jen admitted that she, understandably, finds claims that she sacrificed the chance to have kids for her own fame and fortune incredibly painful, and argued that women shouldn’t have to feel like they’ve ‘failed’ if they decide not to start an army of mini-thems.

LOVE YOU, JEN.

Looking INCREDIBLE as she graced the cover of Allure’s January edition, Jen explained that it’s not “fair” for her to be judged on whether or not she’s starting a family with fiancé Justin Theroux.

She said: “I don’t like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women, that you’ve failed yourself as a female because you haven’t procreated.

“I don’t think it’s fair. You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t mothering — dogs, friends, friends, children.”

We happen to think we’re VERY mothering of that XXL tub of ice cream in our freezer so we’re with Jen on this one.

She went on to SLAM claims that she’s ‘selfish’ for putting her acting career before family, adding: “Oh, God, so many painful things. The accusation that I’ve put my career before the want, the desire to be a mother.

“This continually is said about me: that I was so career-driven and focused on myself; that I don’t want to be a mother, and how selfish that is.”

If we could put some sort of sassy emoji here, we really would.

She also spoke about the crazy amount of pressure put on women to recreate, telling the magazine: “I have a lot of friends who decided not to have children, who can’t have children, or are trying but are having a difficult time.

“There’s all sorts of reasons why children aren’t in people’s lives, and no one has the right to assume.

“Its quite rude, insulting, and ignorant. Even saying it gets me a little tight in my throat.”

Well, we think you’re doing JUST FINE, Jen. Haters gonn’ hate and all that.

Still, Jen did have SOME positive words during the interview, and not surprisingly, they all involved how incredible her 43-year-old fiancé is. LOVE.

She revealed: “He’s a nurturer. He is so fiercely loyal. Beyond protective. I mean, the way he takes care of our dogs, he takes care of me, he takes care of friends.”
