We all know that he likes to push the boundaries when it comes to his gags, but some people think that Jimmy Carr went a *little* too far during Wednesday’s Q Awards.
In a pretty darn awkward turn of events, the comedian left the 200-strong audience with their jaws on the floor after making a rather controversial joke about Oscar Pistorius.
Apparently WAY, WAY too early, Jimmy!
While hosting the prestigious music awards, the 8 Out of 10 Cats star made some crack about feeling sympathy for the convicted killer after having to queue for the bathroom…. and it did NOT go down well.
READ THE ROOM, JIMMY!
Instead of chuckling along to the joke, there was some SERIOUS tumbleweed rolling across the floor as thing got very awkward.
Complaining about queuing for the toilet, Jimmy, 42, said: “So frustrating. All I’m saying is I can see it from Oscar Pistorius’ point of view.”
After a few gasps, he continued: “That’s not the controversial bit. Here it comes… I blame her.
“If she hadn’t been in that disabled toilet none of this would have happened.”
Clearly no one was ready to laugh at it yet (he had only been sentenced THAT DAY) so Jimmy tried to loosen everyone up.
He shouted: “It’s the f****** Q Awards, come on.”
Nobody came on.
Ever the professional, Jimmy carried on and jumped straight into the present Kasabian with the Best Act In The world award.
After the ceremony, Jimmy told The Mirror: “I think it went all right. I’m going to go home and write some new jokes.”
Yeah, probably for the best.
