Kanye West might have one heck of a fan following, but it seems that many of his loyal followers aren’t *quite* up to scratch with their music history.
Twitter pretty much went into meltdown when the rapper posted a link to his new duet ‘Only One’ last week… and not just because it was so blimmin’ catchy.
While most of Yeezy’s fans seemed suitably impressed with the song, they also seemed slightly confused as to who the chap singing with him was… a certain Paul McCartney?!
As in Sir Paul McCartney. Of The Beatles. AKA One Of The world‘s Most Adored Living Legends.
WE’VE ENTERED THE TWILIGHT ZONE, PEOPLE.
As soon as Kanye posted a link to the duet, many of his fans started asking him who this AMAZING new talent was causing one almightly Twitter spat.
One devoted Kanye fan wrote: “I don’t know who Paul McCartney is, but Kanye is going to give this man a career w/ this new song!!”
YES, LET’S ALL THANK KANYE FOR GIVING THIS UP-AND-COMER THE EXPOSURE HE SO DESPERATELY NEEDED.
Someone else posted: “Kanye West really knows how to expose great new talent. Bet this Paul McCartney guy is gonna be HUGE after this song.”
Another music fan added: “Who is this Paul McCartney? He boutta blow up thanks to Kanye!
Yeah, we have no words.
This caused a rather feisty backlash from those who HAVE heard of Paul McCartney (the majority of the human race) who were OUTRAGED. REALLY OUTRAGED.
One DISTRAUGHT fan wrote: “Losing hope in humanity by the minute.”
Another added: “I’m really going to shade people who don’t know who Paul McCartney is.”
Yeah, we *think* people might be starting to blow things out of proportion.
Let’s all remember what this #DRAMZ is REALLY all about: A really quite mediocre pop song. *Sigh*.
