Kanye West Would Quite Like To Be ‘The Steve Jobs Of The Gap’

north West might not have enjoyed Kanye West‘s fashion show, but that hasn’t stopped the rapper from aiming high and revealing that he’d quite like to be the ‘Steve Jobs of The Gap’.

Yes, really. Without the co-founding bit, of course.

Having already had a pretty damn successful time showing off his new Adidas Originals collection during New York Fashion Week, Kanye is aiming higher than ever with his fashion brand.

Where there’s a Kanye, there’s an amazing quote.

Speaking to Style.com, the 37-year-old revealed his ultimate fashion ambition for the future.

He revealed: “One of my dreams was to be the head creative director of The Gap. I’d like to be the Steve Jobs of The Gap.”

Incredible.

Kanye also gave a look into who influences him, explaining: “You guys know my f**king influences. I’ve got four influences and it’s written all over the face, you know the combination. Just as much as Drake is influenced by Kanye West, you know my f**king influences.

“It’s blatantly right there. I’m not going to try and act like I was influenced by a f**king dog walking down the street that broke its ankle that I had a heartfelt discussion with.

“I had a heartfelt discussion with all of these f**king Helmut Lang images that I stared at for so many years. I had a heartfelt discussion with my Tumblr.”

Wonder how that went.

Reviews of the rapper’s new fashion line has apparently not *exactly* been five stars all round, but that doesn’t seem to bother Kanye, who reckons reviews are: “some kind of backhanded compliment or something focusing on not the main point.”

Of course.

The new line includes things like camoflages jackets and the ‘BabyYeezy Bulletproof Vest’ as modelled by North West (yep, it’s really a thing), which were heavily influenced by the London riots, according to Kanye.

He said: “A major influence was the London riots. I was living in London at that time and saw the way that the kids wanted the clothes and I didn’t have the skill set to do the more inexpensive clothes.”

And there’s good news if you do want to get your mitts on something from Kanye’s collection, because he IS hoping to get the clothes “super-inexpensive,” despite them being “not as cheap as [he'd] like it to be.”

Camoflage jackets and body stockings all round.

Kanye West: Coming to a The Gap store near you soon (in the hopes of taking over, apparently).
