Full details of Jeremy Clarkson’s ‘fracas’ with a producer have yet to be released, but that hasn’t stopped Katie Hopkins voicing her opinions on the whole thing on her favourite social media site, Twitter.
In a surprising turn of events, she’s caused mixed reaction by actually announcing her support for the Top Gear presenter.
We don’t know too much about the incident itself yet, although there are claims that the 54-year-old threw a punch at producer Oisin Tymon because of a “catering issue.”
According a source who spoke to the Daily Mirror, it was more than just a case of not having enough ketchup for his burger, with the insider revealing: “They came to the end of filming after a long day and Jeremy discovered that no food had been laid on.
“He just saw red and hit the assistant producer, who he blamed for not having organised the food. He snapped.”
Still, the lack of details hasn’t stopped the 40-year-old rent-a-gob from firmly stating her views on the whole controversy, siding with those behind the #BringBackClarkson hashtag and generally dividing her followers.
Taking to her Twitter, Katie first wrote: “Clarkson suspended by BBC. I don’t care what he said. Clarkson all the way. #TopGear #topbloke.”
She then caused told followers that getting rid of Jeremy would mean the ‘licence fee would make no sense’, branding his suspension “lefty lunacy.”
Katie wasn’t done there though, later returning to her social media to write: “Clarkson’s suspension has nothing to do with a minor bust up. It is the jealousy of the dim-witted left v the quick-witted right.
She added: “I could easily try and punch someone over a catering issue. An army marches on its stomach. Go Clarkson Go!!
Oh, and she also retweeted this amazing photoshop of her in the Top Gear presenting line-up.
That would certainly make an, erm, interesting show.
The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up will be gutted to hear that the final three episodes of this series of Top Gear have apparently been postponed.
A BBC spokeswoman has said: “Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation.
“No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.”
Jeremy, who was on his final warning following last year’s racism row, has himself taken to Twitter to joke about what could be shown in place of Top Gear this Sunday.
