Is it us, or did Katie Hopkins wake up on the wrong side of her bed this weekend?
Having already unleashed her acid tongue on I’m A Celebrity inmate Gemma Collins with cruel weight jibes, it’s now Olympics gold medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill’s turn to face her outspoken wrath.
Seriously, is NO-ONE safe anymore?!
ICYMI, there’s been a HUGE debate on the future of Sheffield United footballer Ched Evans, who was convicted of rape two years ago.
Last week, Jessica, 28, waded into the debate and told the team’s bosses to remove her name from the stadium stand if Ched is re-signed.
A handful of horrendous Twitter trolls immediately attacked the athlete with a load of rape threats, which thankfully the police seem to have taken control of, and a new debate was started.
NOW, the most outspoken woman to ever leave Sir Alan Sugar’s office has released her venom and slammed Jessica’s statement.
Taking to her own Twitter, she berated the Olympian for basically having an opinion and standing up for what she believes in.
In fact, she kinda made out that being an amazing Olympian made Jessica’s right to an opinion invalid, which is complete rubbish.
Of course, tweeters far and wide immediately reacted to the ridiculous comments, with one user writing: “You seem to have an opinion on almost everything. What’s your qualification?” whilst another questionned how many gold medals Katie has.
Unless they’re gold medals for being the most controversial tweeter year-on-year, we’re guessing her grand total comes to a whopping 0.
Other users called her out on hypocrisy after Katie previously expressed her own opinions on the Ched Evans row.
As well as the tweet below, she also wrote: “Ched doesn’t want to be a role model. He wants to be a footballer. If YOU need to resign to show you disapprove (are jealous) – crack on.”
Users were quick to point out Katie’s flawed argument, with Ander Gilderdale saying: “The irony of expressing an opinion on someone being qualified to express an opinion is beyond you, isn’t it?”
In her statement earlier this week, Jessica said: “I believe being a role model to young people is a huge honour and those in positions of influence in communities should respect the role they play in young people’s lives and set a good example.”
“If Evans was to be re-signed by the club it would completely contradict these beliefs.”
Jessica has The Bramall Lane stand re-named after her thanks to her Olympic success, but how long will it stay?
Meanwhile, we think it best if Katie Hopkins goes back to bed and wakes up on her good side.
If there’s a side where no nasty tweets exist.
