Katie Hopkins Signs Up For TLC Weight Loss Show Following Her Controversial Criticism Of Fat People

She is finally putting her money where her mouth is.

After quite literally years of calling other celebs and the general British people out on their weight, motormouth Katie Hopkins is finally stepping up to the plate.

Pun totally intended.

The ex-Apprentice contestant has signed up for a TV weight-loss challenge in the form of a two-part documentary that will see Katie try to put on more than three stone and then lose it again in an effort to back up her, shall we say, controversial views on weight loss.

Oh, and it gets better – the documentary is being made by our fave channel TLC.

Yes, TLC, the same channel that brought us classic gems such as this:

And this:

Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what flawlessly gif-able and beautifully quote-able lines Katie will come out with.

Speaking of her upcoming show, Katie said: “Britain is eating its way to obesity and struggling to do anything about it.  But in the vast majority of cases, the solution is simple.

“Overweight people should eat less and move more and stop blaming everyone else for problems they can control. To prove that losing weight is not as hard as some people make out, I’m going from underweight to overweight and back.”

She added, “I’ve now piled on three stone and more than doubled my body fat, which has been a struggle both physically and emotionally.  I had seriously underestimated the emotional fallout of feeling overweight.  The person I see in the mirror is a complete stranger to me.”

Better a stranger than Katie Hopkins, eh?

Katie has caused uproar in the past due to her incredibly outspoken and less-than-politcally-correct views on fat people.

She has previously admitted that she wouldn’t employ somebody who was overweight as it shows that they are sloppy and unable to work effectively, and has got into many-a-online-spat with celebs about their size, including Lily Allen and Jesy from Little Mix.

Lily was especially enraged, and understandably so, when the 39-year-old rent-a-gob criticized her for gaining weight whilst pregnant.

Yep, that’s actually something that happened in real life in 2014.

Speaking to Heat Katie said of the popstar: “She was removing herself from the spotlight because she wanted to be a mother and that largely involved gaining two stone and looking pretty hideous.”

Lily took to her Twitter page to blast Katie’s comments in the below tirade:

And it’s fair to say that we think Lily won that round.

We were going to say ‘love her or loathe her’ but does anybody actually love her?

So, loathe her or despise her, it is undeniable that watching Katie pile on the pounds and then attempt to lose it all again is going to make INCREDIBLE TV.

And judging by Twitter, we’re not the only ones that are super excited for her return to the small screen:

And one over-excitable fan probably divulged a little too much information:

Erm, good luck living that one down.

Unfortunately we have to wait until early next year for the show to air, but to keep us going until then Katie tweeted last night that she has accepted Professor Green’s snarky Ice Bucket Challenge nomination and will be filming it in due course.

She really is the gift that keeps on giving.
