She just can’t help but have an opinion, can she?
Katie Hopkins has offended yet again, criticizing those who have been mourning Peaches Geldof following yesterday’s inquest result which revealed that she died of a heroin overdose.
It was ruled yesterday Peaches’ death was caused by an overdose of the class A drug, after five months sober.
Katie took the news as an opportunity to comment on Peaches’ abilities as a Mother after it was also revealed her 11-month-old son Phaedra was in the house when she overdosed.
“Peaches’ fatal syringe was in a box by the bed – along with some sweets. She was taking care of her baby son after all,” she sarcastically tweeted.
The former Apprentice star then asked her followers if the levels of sympathy would be the same if it was her who overdosed in front of her child.
“Let’s turn the tables. It was me that took an overdose whilst caring for my 11 month old. Would I be a fallen angel too?,” she wrote.
Of course, Katie’s comments provoked an almost instant backlash.
“I agree that it was disgraceful parenting but bloody hell Katie, she has a family that’s mourning. Show a bit of class,” one user wrote.
However, in the week after Peaches’ death Katie WAS sympathetic referring to the time they met on This Morning and commenting how she ‘admired’ the former TV personality.
“Peaches and I met once, on a TV sofa in central London. We were strangers and remained adversaries,” she wrote, adding:
“She was tough enough not to seek approval from anyone. I admire that trait in others. Peaches didn’t need tweets from celebrities or strangers — she just needed a mother’s love.”
Peaches Geldof died suddenly in April aged just 25.
