Katie Piper has taken to her MazSight account to keep fans up to date with her latest hospital happenings, sharing a post-surgery selfie to reassure everybody that her latest throat procedure went well.
A whopping four hours after she went under the knife, the mum-of-one shared the pic alongside the caption: “All went well should hopefully be going home same day!
“Thanks for all the lovely msgs and good luck and lots of love to my other followers who R in hospital today x [sic]“.
The TV presenter also took to her social media channels before heading in for the op, this time sharing a nervous-looking snap of herself and a preeettttyyyy reassuring sign, that left us pretty cert that the total babe would be a-okay.
Katie captioned the pic: “Back in hospital today for further surgery on the tears in my throat- reassuring sign on the wall!!!”
The procedure was to repair Katie’s oesophagus, which was torn earlier this month when she was undergoing surgery to have scar tissue removed after a 2008 acid attack.
The tear was causing her extreme pain, vomiting, and resulted in her losing a stone in just two weeks, the star revealed back in March: “I went in for a routine operation to remove scar tissue from my attack but there were complications.
“I was discharged but started to deteriorate.
“It’s been very painful and I’ve lost a stone in fifteen days so I had to come in and be monitored.
“A stone is a lot and I look like a skeleton but hope to be back home and back to normal ASAP – all fun and games.”
Sadly, the complications meant that she had to miss her daughter’s first birthday party, as well as pull out of various work commitments.
Thankfully, it looks like things have gone a lot more smoothly this time around, and something tells us that Katie will be making up for lost time in no time.
Get well soon, babes!
