Katy Perry Slams Taylor Swift: ‘No Diva Can Defame Me And Get Away With It’

Last year we were all kind of shocked to learn about that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift beef, which influenced TayTay’s 1989 track, ‘Bad Blood’, and it looks as though things are set to get worse before they get any better.

Yes, it’s been a messy ol’ feud from the get-go, with Katy appearing to liken Taylor to Mean Girls’ Regina George, before slagging her off for how she is in front of the paps, and Taylor… Well, she’s just been kind of getting on with her life really.

But now, in a new interview with Billboard magazine, Katy has laid into the 25-year-old yet again, making us think that maybe Taylor picked a fight with the wrong popstar.

Speaking about their very public feud, Katy insists that she has not done anything wrong and, at the end of the day, absolutely nobody is going to say mean things about her and get away with it.

Katy told the mag of Taylor: “If somebody is trying to defame my character, you’re going to hear about it.”

That’s fighting talk if ever we heard it…

Just in case you’re a tad behind on the biggest beef in the pop world, this whole kerfuffle started when Taylor had an interview with Rolling Stone magazine when promo-ing her fifth studio album last summer.

The star of the moment unintentionally opened a bloomin’ massive can of worms when she thought that she described the ‘mystery popstar’ that diss track ‘Bad Blood’ is about super stealthily.

She said: “For years I was never sure if we were friends or not.

“She would come up at awards shows, say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’

“She did something so horrible, I was like, ‘We’re just straight-up enemies’.

“It wasn’t even about a guy! She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour – she tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

Unfortunately for Taylor, fans these days notice e’rything, and her subtle comments were not subtle enough with detective types soon speculating that she was talking about Katy stealing her tour dancers from the get-go.

Then things intensified even more when Katy added fuel to the fire with a Mean-Girls-referencing Tweet:

It was all very dramatic.

Finally, the feud came to a head when an old interview with dancer Lockhart Brownlie resurfaced, which pretty much confirmed that the fans were right and dancers jumped ship and left poor Taylor high and dry after Katy hired them mid-way through Taylor’s Red tour to perform on her own Prism one.

Eeek, not cool.

Months later, Katy kept the Kaylor feud going with her boyfriend Diplo slagging off the star for being small-chested (three cheers for feminism), and Katy sending a cryptic, yet blindingly obvious tweet, about ‘not trusting’ certain celebs.

She wrote: “Tbh I don’t really trust people that continually look down the barrel of a paparazzi lens.”

And while she could *technically* be talking about anybody, we couldn’t help but notice that Taylor DOES always seem to look down the lens of the cameras when she’s papped out and about.

Hmm… coincidence? WE THINK NOT.

Finally, after landing the prestigious half-time performance slot at the Superbowl, it was revealed that Katy was planning on seriously getting her own back by humiliating Taylor on a global scale.

It is thought that the ‘Roar’ singer intends to give the first ever performance of her new song, ‘She’s So Creepy’, which was inspired by the former country star.

Here’s hoping Tay means it when she says that she can ‘shake it off’, because it looks to us like Katy meant it when she said that she doesn’t let anybody get away with slagging her off…
