That person? Her ex-husband Russell Brand, whose good luck tweet to her went down like a tonne of bricks into the Grand Canyon.
We thought it was nice, anyway.
Understandably, KP, 30, was pretty p*ssed off that 39-year-old Russell chose her big day as the first time to reach out to her since their bitter divorce.
Luckily, it looks like Katy was able to separate herself from the whole thing and give the performance of her life during the game’s half-time show. Nice one, Katy.
A source told The Sun: “She couldn’t believe he’d say that after everything he put her through.
“This was the man who, quite literally, destroyed her heart. He slagged her off publicly around the world.
“Then on the biggest night of her life professionally, he could not resist involving himself.”
In a shocking turn of events, Katy has so far not replied to her ex.
And judging by that source’s comments, we don’t think she’ll be reaching out with a ‘THANKS, BABE’ anytime soon.
Russell originally took to Twitter before the big game to show support for his ex-wife, saying that whilst the whole Super Bowl thing might be ‘baffling’ to us Brits (true, true), the half time show was sure to be ‘amazing’, and that he wishes KP good luck.
N’awww. Or should we say naaaah?
Russell and Katy divorced after just one year of marriage in 2011, with Katy later revealing that her now ex-husband ended it all via text message.
Speaking about Russell to Vogue, the singer revealed: “He’s a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him.
“Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”
At least Katy managed to get through her epic performance without a glitch, anyway.
Bad news if you were looking for a Katy/Russell reunion any time soon though. Sorry.
