And now Kelly Brook has spoken out about her This Morning interview after she was accused of trivialising the subject of domestic abuse.

Kelly had been promoting her new biography ‘Close Up’ on the popular show when she was asked about two sections which detailed how she had hit her ex partners Jason Statham and Danny Cipriani. Angry viewers took umbrage to Brook’s ‘giggling’ throughout the questioning, branding her attitude to domestic abuse as ‘disgusting’.

Speaking to Magic FM about the incident, Kelly gave her side of the story, saying that she hadn’t been briefed for such a serious interview.

She said: “I think it was poor management on the Producer’s part. I think we should have all been properly briefed on something that was so serious.”

Kelly then went on to admit that she was surprised at how much presenter Philip Schofield pushed her on the subject.

She continued: “I didn’t really understand what Phillip was trying to get at to be honest. I knew that he really wanted to talk about domestic violence, but then he didn’t really go there and if he wanted to have a serious conversation about it then maybe we should have got someone else on the show and we could have had a proper debate, but that wasn’t the interview.

“I thought ‘Are we really going to go there? Do you really actually want to go there Phillip? Because I’m happy to…’

“The interview wasn’t really what I was briefed on; it wasn’t really the place to have that conversation. I expected him to go there, but not to the level that he did. I think everyone was a bit confused about how we should have dealt with it.”

Kelly also addressed her giggling in the interview, saying that it was simply the way she is.

She concluded: “I’m quite giggly and upbeat sometimes the way I talk about things isn’t serious enough and maybe I was a bit naïve and maybe I should have taken that seriously.”
