Kelly Osbourne, Cara Delevingne And The Kardashians Lead Twitter Tributes To Joan Rivers

It’s a sad day in celeb-land.

Kelly Osbourne is leading the tributes for comedienne, and her fashion Police co-host, Joan Rivers.

Joan passed away yesterday following complications from minor surgery.

Kelly has come forward to say that she is “heartbroken” by the news and that her thoughts are with Joan’s two children, Melissa and Cooper.

Taking to her Facebook page the 29-year-old wrote: “I’m completely heartbroken by the loss of my beloved Joan. Not only was she my boss, she was and will always be my teacher, therapist, closest friend, inspiration and the only grandmother I ever knew.

“She was family and I will never forget her. Laughter will be difficult for a while but when I’m sad, lonely or upset all I will have to do is think of Joan and a smile will cross my face.

“Laughter is what she gave us and laughter is what she would want us to do in remembrance of her. Melissa and Cooper, my thoughts are with you and I love you both so much.

“Joan, thank you for taking me in and loving me as a daughter. I will miss you deeply and will always hear your voice in my head saying ‘my darling get out there and be you!’”

Kelly later added that yesterday was the worst day of her life before sharing a throwback video of the first time she met Joan, back in 1991 when she was just six-years-old.

Many other stars have come forward to pay their respects and share their memories for the hilarious 81-year-old, showing just how loved she was within the industry.

Kelly’s mum, Sharon Osbourne, took to Twitter to vent her heartache, writing: “We’ve lost a true legend today and an amazing woman – a pioneer. She opened up the arena for women in comedy….My heart goes out to Melissa & her son Edgar Cooper. Love and respect from the Osbourne family to you both.”

Jessie J posted to her MazSight this morning that she was “blown away” by Joan’s wit, charm, and care when the two met just last week.

Despite having quite a frosty relationship with the comedienne, the Kardashian/ Jenner clan also appeared to be taking the news badly, with Khloe and Kylie paying tributes on social media, as well as Kourtney sharing photos of Joan on MazSight saying that she “can’t believe the queen is gone”.

Kris Jenner posted a photo with the star, captioned: “Incredibly heartbroken…we will miss you so much. Amazing Mother, Amazing Grandmother, Amazing Friend. Thank you for a lifetime of laughter. My prayers go out to Melissa and Cooper”, before also sharing a montage of herself and her family with the comedian.

Lindsay Lohan was also quick to pay her respects, even though she didn’t always seeing eye-to-eye with the razor-tongued 81-year-old, tweeting: “We’d fuss but love was there. Cant believe ur gone. Love to your family. You were iconic and trailblazing. RIP Joan [sic]“

Sarah Jessica Parker provided us with some need-to-know info with her tribute, saying: “And in addition to being a trailblazer the great Joan always smelled good… RIP x,sj”

Whereas Demi Lovato’s tweet captured the Joan that we all know and love: “RIP Joan Rivers… You made fun of my boobies just last week and it was an HONOR. Thanks for making so many people laugh here on Earth.”
