She’s certainly standing by her man.
Kerry Katona says that despite her fiancee George Kay’s recent mental health problems they are still trying for baby number six.
Speaking since George was temporarily detained under the mental health act, Kerry said that she isn’t going to let her bipolar or his steroid abuse get in the way of extending their family.
“George wants to have another baby soon because he doesn’t want to be an older dad and we’d like the children to be close in age,” Kerry says.
The 33-year-old already has five children – Molly, 12, and Lilly-Sue, 11 – her children by Brian McFadden, 34 – plus Heidi, seven, and Maxwell, six, her children with Mark Croft and new baby Dylan-Jorge with George.
Police were called last week after George appeared visibly distressed outside the couple’s shared home, reportedly asking for an ambulance to be called, and saying that “they’re going to f****** kill me!”
He was also reportedly seen standing in a ‘boxing stance’ shouting that ‘imaginary attackers had tied his shoelaces together’.
The former Rugby League star has since blamed a mixture of steriods, booze and sleeping pills for his outburst.
A family friend said: “It has been a terrible few days for Kerry and George but they are back together which is all that matters.
“Some reports gave the impression Kerry had left George on his own but that isn’t the case at all.
“George has been through a difficult time lately and his moods have been quite unstable but Kerry understands what it is like to battle with emotional difficulties and isn’t going to turn her back on him.
“Instead, she plans to use her own experiences to help him through this.”
Kerry, who has spoken publicly about her own struggles with mental illness (she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder several years ago), was said to be visibly upset when George was taken away for psychiatric examination last week.
The former rugby star was discharged on Friday, and travelled up north to see Kerry, where she’s been staying with relatives.
The couple have also just been told Kerry’s son Max, from her previous relationship with Mark Croft, suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Kerry said: “Max is such a lovely child and he’ll do anything for anybody. I want to get him as much help as possible.”
Kerry and George have been dating since 2012 and have been engaged since April 2013. They have said they will postpone their Wedding until George is feeling better.
