We don’t think that we will ever get over Zayn Malik sensationally quitting One Direction and with it being one of the biggest shocks of the year so far, it was hardly surprising that it was referenced a LOT at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards last night.
Hosted by the hella hunky Nick Jonas, there were quips galore about the band going in “two directions”, “new directions” and any other kind of ‘lolz someone left’ direction that you can think of.
Nick also went on to joke about “Fourth Harmony, Three Seconds Of Summer, and The Jonas Brother” as he pondered over what the future could have in store for other major bands.
Despite poking fun at himself as he made the jokes, we have to say that the continuous reminders about 1D now being a four-piece seemed a tad too soon and kind of felt as though there were whole bucket loads of salt being poured into the wound.
Don’t you know the fandom’s hurting, Nick?
Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to share their thoughts on the 22-year-old’s comments, and fans were definitely not happy:
It’s too soon, Nick, it’s all too soon.
Anyways, it wasn’t all bad news for 1D fans last night as our the fab fivesome turned *sob* foursome went on to scoop the blimp for Favourite Music Group, which is bittersweet as it kind of marks the band’s final win with Zayn, but it did let the remaining members know just how much we all love ‘em.
Clearly chuffed by the undying support from his legions of fans, Louis Tomlinson took to Twitter to share his gratitude last night, writing: “Thank you so much for all your hard work with the #KCAs !!
“We clearly have the ultimate fans !!!”
Always and forever, babes, and don’t you forget it.
