The 33-year-old took to her MazSight page to proudly share a video of Kanye on tour with the caption: “What an amazing australian tour! Its frustrating that something so awesome could be clouded by lies in the media.
“Kanye never asked anyone in a wheel chair to stand up & the audience videos show that. He asked for everyone to stand up & dance UNLESS they were in a wheel chair. #JustWantedEveryoneToHaveAFunNight #TheMediaTwistsThings”
Listen, Kim, we have all painstakingly watched the video footage of the incident, it was awkward and it was uncomfortable and we couldn’t stop cringing from the second-hand embarrassment but we still watched it.
It is indisputable.
What we saw is Kanye stop mid-way through a song, telling the crowd that he “can’t do the rest of the show until everybody stands up.”
The 37-year-old then reveals to the rest of his fans that there are just “two people left who don’t want to stand up”, which leads to the majority of the crowd booing and jeering at the unknown people.
It then gets worse, with the rapper still not realising that the last person seated was in fact disabled, continuing to stare at them and commenting: “This is the longest I’ve ever had to wait to do something, it’s unbelievable”.
Whilst it is totally fair enough that the rapper was completely unaware that the man he was getting the crowd to boo and jeer at was in a wheelchair, his reaction to finding out isn’t exactly acceptable.
The crowd surrounding the seated fan soon took it upon themselves to shout towards the stage that the man is handicapped, it is at this stage that Kanye graces him with what appears to be some kind of royal pardon, kindly saying: “If he’s in a wheelchair then it’s fine, is he in a wheelchair?”
And this is where it all gets a bit problematic, the audience shout back that yes, this man is in a wheelchair, but instead of immediately apologising for what was literally minutes of Kanye demanding that he stand as the rest of the audience booed, Kanye just goes straight back into his performance without so much as an acknowledgment.
It’s all just so awkward and inappropriate and we can’t quite believe that he didn’t even say ‘sorry’.
So, we’re sorry Kim but it probably would have all blown over relatively quickly if your husband showed an element of regret, embarrassment or just any basic decorum over the entire incident because to be fair to Kanye, he wasn’t to know that the man physically couldn’t stand.
But the way that he dealt with the revelation was very, very uncool.
And please don’t make us watch the video again to prove it.
