Caitlyn Jenner‘s ex-wife Kris Jenner has finally broken her silence on THAT amazing Vanity Fair cover, which the former Olympian debuted at the beginning of June.
Caitlyn has already received an outpouring of incredible love and support from the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner Klan (aside from those rumours that she was facing a backlash), and now her Kris has praised the “beautiful” transgender woman on the big magazine cover.
Speaking to ‘Extra’ at the MailOnline’s Seriously Popular yacht party in Cannes, 59-year-old Kris said: “I think it’s amazing.
“I think that someone following their dream is truly inspirational to a lot of people. You have to do what makes you happy.”
The momager also praised her ex-husband for the “beautiful” photos, which were taken by Annie Leibovitz.
Her lovely comments may be the first remarks Kris has made since the cover, but she did show her support when Caitlyn came out as transgender in her interview with Diane Sawyer.
Tweeting at the time, Kris wrote: “Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero.”
She was also involved in the Vanity Fair interview, discussing what caused the breakdown of their marriage.
Claiming their relationship ended abruptly when Caitlyn “just decided ‘I’m done’,” Kris admitted: “He was married to me and he wasn’t who he wanted to be so he was miserable. All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was p**sed off.
“At the end of my relationship with Bruce he definitely had a lot of social anxiety. That was one of the reasons we were in a struggle at the end.”
Cait, on the other hand, had her own views on why they split, saying: “Twenty per cent was gender and 80 per cent was the way I was treated.”
She continued: “The first 15 years I felt she needed me more because I was the breadwinner. Then really around the show, when that hit and she was running the whole show and getting credit for it and she had her own money, she didn’t need me as much from that standpoint. The relationship was different.
“I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me. Then I’d get upset and the whole relationship kind of fizzled. A lot of times she wasn’t very nice.
“People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money, all that kind of stuff.”
