Kris Jenner‘s sister has opened up about how the Kardashian-Jenners are dealing with Bruce Jenner‘s transition into womanhood ahead of his tell-all interview, which airs later this month.
Karen Houghton claims that the announcement of Bruce’s big interview is ‘another blow’ to the family, and that Kris is “embarrassed” by the changes.
Speaking to RadarOnline, Karen revealed: “As with anyone, it has embarrassed my sister. It’s been humiliating for her.”
She added that Bruce’s transition had also been ‘hard’ on his daughters Kendall, 18, and Kylie, 17.
She explained: “I told Kendall and Kylie, ‘I love your dad, I will always love him. I don’t care what he is or does’. I know this is hard on them.”
Karen also revealed how she herself had taken the 65-year-old’s news, admitting: “I told him ‘I love you no matter what—if you’re blue, white, transgender, gay. I don’t judge people.
“I told him ‘It doesn’t matter. It’s what’s in your heart.’ I just said, ‘It doesn’t matter to me. You helped raise my daughter’. He helped [my daughter] build toys on Christmas. I love him as a man or a woman.
“I don’t really care. There is nothing I can say that’s bad about him. All he did was make my life better for me and my kids. Everyone is rooting for him.”
She admits she had no clue about Bruce’s transgender during his 23-year marriage to Kris, saying she thought he’d wanted to “keep it private.”
Karen will also be tuning in to watch his two-hour interview on April 24, saying: “Oh, are you kidding! Yes! I’d like to see it. I was shocked at the age though. I couldn’t do something like that.
“I really admire him for being brave and doing what he wanted to do. And now he’s doing it.”
It’s been reported that the interview with Diane Sawyer will serve as a “farewell” to the reality star’s male persona, with ‘Bruce Jenner’ as we know him being put to rest for good following his appearance on the show.
Sources close to him have told TMZ that the interview will cover every aspect of Bruce’s transition into womanhood, focusing on his mental state and his journey.
The gossip site claims that although the former Olympian will not be revealing his new name or “dress like a woman” on camera, Bruce sees the interview as the most significant event associated with his transition.
