It was reported last month that Kym Marsh and her fiancé Dan Hooper were on a “relationship break” after calling off their engagement, but now sources claim that they have ended their romance for good.
Wah – say it ain’t so.
The Coronation Street star announced her engagement to the personal trainer back in December, eight months after they started dating, and reportedly hoped that their break would only be a short-term solution in an attempt to repair their relationship.
A source told The Sun: “There are a lot of feelings still there, but the engagement was too much, too soon, and seems to have driven a wedge between them.
“Neither was prepared to go through with the marriage when it wasn’t right. It wouldn’t have been fair on them, or the kids involved.”
Needless to say, mum-of-four Kym is said to be absolutely gutted, with the insider adding: “Kym is heartbroken. She carried on wearing her [engagement] ring after she and Dan decided to take a break and hoped they’d get back together.
“But it has become clear there is no way back for them.
“Kym’s friends loved Dan to bits and thought they made a great couple. They are gutted it hasn’t worked out.”
Aren’t we all, babes, aren’t we all.
A source had previously told The Mirror that pals were keeping their fingers crossed for Dan and Kym’s romance to stay alive, with everyone reckoning that he’d been a huge positive impact on the star’s life.
They explained: “It’s a real shame because everyone who’s met Dan thinks he’s a fantastic bloke and has had a really positive impact on Kym’s life.
“Dan’s family and friends love Kym to bits so they’re all just keeping their fingers crossed that they sort things out sooner rather than later.”
We know that things are said to be totally off now, but we’re still going to keep our fingers crossed for a reconciliation.
