If your girlfriend was the world famous popstar Nicole Scherzinger, you would think that you’d brush up on her entire back catalogue so that you could sing along to her songs if they ever spontaneously popped up in the car when you’re together.
If we were going to make a list of awkward things, this would most definitely trump them all time and time again.
AGH SO BAD.
Lewis, 29, made the massive #EPICFAIL during a music quiz with Nick Grimshaw, where he was asked to guess the song after listening to short snippets of the tracks.
It was all going swimmingly, with Lewis naming track-after-track with no problems.
But it all got more awkward than tripping over your own feet in front of that fit barista from Starbucks when Lewis got stuck on one track. The one track that happened to be Nicole’s song with Timbaland, Scream.
The second hand embarrassment we’re currently feeling is dangerously close to crippling.
Perhaps even more awkward is the fact that Lew guessed that TIMBALAND was involved in the track… but no-one else. AGH AGH AGH.
When Nick told him which song it was, Lew cringed harder than he’s ever cringed before, saying: “I can’t believe you did that to me. I’m going to get it when I get home.”
“The worst thing is that was a great song.”
YES IT WAS LEWIS. AND YOU SHOULD KNOW ALL THE WORDS LIKE THE BACK OF YOUR HAND.
He did try and dig himself out of his family-sized hole by admitting: “We weren’t together when she did that song.”
Good luck with that one Lewis.
Meanwhile, Yahoo has spoken exclusively to Nicole about her upcoming role as Grizabella in Cats The Musical, revealing that she’s approaching THAT infamous song from more of an actor’s perspective.
“I’m blessed enough to work with the people who created this musical and I am going at it from a real actor’s perspective,” she reveals, “I’m almost treating ‘Memory’ as a monologue and all I can do is bring my own experiences and the story of my own life.
“When you focus on it from an acting point of view you’re not worried about what it sounds like because that’s not what it is about.
“It’s about what she is singing, that’s all I’m doing. I’m putting all the work in and take it very seriously.”
Perhaps you should tell Lewis to put the work into learning your songs too!
