Whilst we’re all busy crying our eyes out, listening to One Direction‘s back catalogue and eating LOADS of comfort food after the news that Zayn Malik has quit the band, let’s take a second to think about how the rest of the boys are doing.
Yep, we might still be properly struggling to digest the big news, but Liam Payne has posted THE cutest Twitlonger to explain that him and the rest of the boys are ‘deeply saddened’ to say goodbye to their Bradford Bad Boi.
AND he even had words of encouragement for us lot, saying ‘it’s OK to be sad and upset’ and that ‘there’s a lot more to come’.
If you weren’t already in an emotional state of emotion, this will probably just about do it.
Liam’s Twitlonger reads: “In light of recent events I think this is important to say.
“For the past five years now I’ve been part of something so special I don’t think any of us really understand, something that can mean the world to people and put a smile on the face of our fans even in the darkest times. To a lot of people it’s just a bunch of silly kids in a band but to the people involved it means so much more.
“This last week has been some of the worst times, possibly the worst it’s something we are all deeply saddened by. It’s sad to think for the time being we won’t grace the stage as five bros or have the same fun on a tour bus or laughs in a hotel together that we have over the years but I’m super sure us and zayn will always remain the closest friends.
“I guess what I’m really trying to say is it’s far from over.
“When we very 1st became successful we all agreed that one direction had become much bigger than each individual member that’s why I feel like right now it’s ok to be sad and upset but I do ask everyone who is a fan of us to please keep ur faith in us I’m sure there’s a lot more to come all love Liam.”
GAH. We’re stuck between genuinely crying a river of salty, snotty tears and wanting to give Liam (and the other boys) and big, squeezy bear hug to say THANK YOU for being so lovely and helping every single fan through this tough time.
And let’s be honest, we just want to give them all of our love to help them get through this horrible time, and to say thanks for always being there.
Liam, Louis, Niall and Harry all broken their silence on Twitter yesterday, although they only alluded to Zayn’s departure rather than referencing it outright.
Liam wrote: “So glad to be in bed after a long and strange 24 hours,” whilst Niall said: “Been a mad few days and your support has been incredible as per usual ! This in turn Spurs us on to make the best music we possibly can.”
Meanwhile, Harry simply tweeted: “All the love as always. H.”
However, Louis’ tweets had people worried, as he wrote: “Been a crazy couple of days but know that we are going to work harder than ever to deliver the best album we’ve ever made for you guys ! Your support has been incredible , truly incredible so thank you so much !”
Fans reckon that the boys could REALLY use a good, extended break, a bit of ‘me’ time and chance to actually relax.
We can’t help but agree to be honest – those boys have worked SO ridiculously hard after the past four years, they must be due some sort of break, right?
LOVE YOU, GUYS.
