It’s the West End debut we’ve all been waiting for.
But, predictably, things didn’t go *quite* to plan during the opening night of Lindsay Lohan‘s new play, Speed-The-Plow.
massive shocker, eh?!
According to audience members at the Playhouse Theatre, the 28-year-old actress forget her lines a total of five times. FIVE TIMES.
Prompting laughter from the audience, LiLo had to be fed her lines from the side of the stage and even read them from a book at one point.
JUST GIVE HER A BREAK YEAH, LEARNING LINES IS BLIMMIN’ TRICKY!
But despite struggling with those pesky words, it seems that Lindsay was, like, TOTALLY charming in the role… according to, erm, some people.
A reviewer for the Daily Beast said: “On the first night of previews, a work-in-progress feel is to be expected.
But halfway through the second act of Speed-the-Plow, the audience was openly laughing at Lohan’s struggle to grasp Mamet’s sharp, trademark dialogue.”
But one audience member told MailOnline: “She was just fine, she did forget her lines a couple of times but covered it up like a pro. She was a pleasant surprise for sure.
“Lindsay’s character was quite interesting and she immersed herself in the role, she was very strong in the second scene which was her biggest one.”
So it wasn’t all bad, eh?
The insider added: “She looked amazing… I was in awe of her. It was no means a perfect performance and she’s certainly no Judi Dench, but she wasn’t awful.”
WASN’T AWFUL – HEAR THAT, LINDSAY?! YES!
Lindsay’s got a few months to go to *ahem* perfect the play, in which she plays a secretary to two Hollywood producers, who vie for her affections.
The only way is up, Linds!
