STOP. EVERYTHING. Little Mix have FINALLY gifted us with their new single ‘Black Magic’ and it’s better than a Sunday roast with extra Yorkshire puddings.
Think girl power, think retro, think all kinds of groovy vibes (errr, yep) and you’re pretty much there. 3 minutes and 32 seconds of pure musical GOLDENNESS.
Is goldenness a word? Interesting.
MOVING ON. If you’ve been waiting for their new music since pretty much this time last year when ‘Salute’ was released, you were probably all geared up to put the entirety of May 26th aside to listen to this new tune all darn day.
However, after some sneaky so-and-so leaked the track online yesterday (BOO HISS etc etc), the awesome foursome decided to treat Mixers to the new song early.
Hurrah, hip hip hooray and a thousand heart-eyed emojis.
Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson premiered the total TUNE, which was written by the super talented Ed Drewett, on Capital FM this morning, and we’re already played it approximately 89 times this morning.
The girls have already revealed the empowering message behind the song, explaining: “The message of Black Magic is basically that we are the girls with the secret potion and we’re going to give it to all the other girls that want to get the man they want to get.”
Jesy added that “It makes them fall in love,” before Leigh-Anne continued: “But I think the potion is a little metaphor for confidence. Just have a little bit of confidence and get your man!”
Winner winner chicken dinner.
This song is catchier than the common cold (something which we coincedentally have right now), so if you need us today, we’ll probably be on YouTube hitting that replay button. WELL DONE, LITTLE MIX.
