We’ve loved those gorgeous Little Mix girls since the first time they stepped on The X Factor stage, and now we think we love them even more after they had a chat about all things girl power.
Having a chinwag with super stylish magazine Wonderland, the four girlies were basically the entire epitome of girl power, discussing all things equality and equal pay in the film industry.
PREACH, GIRLS. PREACH.
Sidenote: Can we just take a minute to pause and imagine Spice Girls and Little Mix coming together for the ultimate girl power group? We’re thinking McBusted territory here. Spice Mix anyone?
Looking glorious and posing in a bright pink limousine (jealous), the girls explained that they are all about girl power and supporting women in the music industry.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock explained: “It’s so refreshing to see females owning it right now.
“Girl power is what we’re about. It’s what we stand for as a group. We want to do everything we can to make women feel better about themselves.”
Jesy Nelson also revealed that they’ve “had mums come up to us and literally thank us for making the music that we do,” reiterating the fact that the group have become wonderful role models for young girls.
She added: [The mums are] “saying that since listening to Little Mix their daughters have been happier and more confident in themselves. If a girl is being bullied, or heartbroken, or just feeling like utter shite, if our music can make them feel better, then we’re doing our jobs right.”
But it’s not just equality in the music industry that gets scrutinised.
The girls also discussed the row over equal pay for women in the film industry, with Perrie Edwards summing up the whole thing with the best line ever. *BOOM*.
She said: “I just don’t understand it. Why should we be paid less because we have boobs and a vajayjay?”
Leigh-Anne continued: “If things don’t change women in the film industry should just go on strike. Could you imagine if all women in the film industry just stopped working or turned down parts until they got equal pay?”
Is it us, or does that actually sound like a genius idea?
In conclusion, Little Mix are basically killing it right now, and we’re so on board with their girl power promotion.
Sisters we are everywhere, warriors your country needs you. SALUTE.
