But Lucy Mecklenburgh has revealed that she’s happy with her recent weight gain after admitting that she was ‘too thin’ at eight stone last year.

The gorgeous TOWIE star, who quit the show at Christmas, says that at one point she was addicted to exercise because she was unhappy after her split from former-fiance Mario Falcone.

Speaking to Closer Lucy, 22, explained: “When I started training for the first time last January, exercise started out as the thing that made me happy at a time when I felt sad. It got me out the other end. I still love exercise but back then it was more of an addiction, and, at one point I was too thin.”

She went on to reveal that she feels much happier after gaining a stone in weight.

Lucy said: “Now I’ve found my happy weight, though – nine stone. Last summer in Marbella, I got down to eight stone, and anxiety and stress had a lot to do with that. Even though I was eating well, the weight dropped off me.”

She added: “I wouldn’t want to be that weight again. I was too light for my height and I’m really happy with the way I am now.”

Lucy, who is currently single after three failed TOWIE romances with Mario, Tom and Dan, went on to reveal that she feels emotionally stronger after taking up exercise.

Lucy also explained that she follows a Healthy eating plan too, after recently hitting out at people who say she’s naturally thin.

Last week the star raged: “I’m really annoyed…with everyone who says I’m naturally thin. After school we were only allowed one snack. Those habits have stuck with me. If I ate what most people I know eat, I wouldn’t be thin. It winds me up that people say I’m naturally skinny. I feel like it’s a way of ‘nicely’ putting me down.”

She revealed that on a normal day she has eggs with ham, turkey or vegetables for breakfast, followed by a vegetarian soup or Greek salad for lunch. For dinner she has fish and quinoa, avoids caffeine and fizzy drinks but still treats herself to boozy nights out and dessert.

Seems that she’s nailed this ‘everything in moderation’ lark.
