He may have been in the top three last year.
But apparently Luke Friend still doesn’t know what X Factor mogul Simon Cowell thinks of him.
Speaking exclusively with Yahoo Celebrity UK at Fusion Festival in Birmingham, we asked the former X Factor contestant if there was a judge from this year he wished had been in Series 10.
Luke said: “Simon I think, because I’ve never wondered what he’s like. He’d give his honest opinion. It’d be interesting to see what he thought of me. I’m sure I’ll find out at some point.”
Ermm… Wait the creator of the X Factor STILL hasn’t told Luke what he thought of his performance last year? Though in fairness asking Simon for his opinion on anything is probably pretty terrifying, you never know when he’ll blast your performance into several millions pieces and then grind those pieces into dust.
Even though Luke hasn’t had any feedback from Simon that hasn’t stopped him from getting on with his career. He’s about to set off on tour supporting The Vamps, about which he said: “I’m really excited! It’s going to be wicked.”
He also is still rocking his signature dread-head style (THANK GOODNESS), which brought him both love and hate during his time on X Factor. We asked Luke when he decided to adopt the extreme look.
He said: “I think like most good things, it came by accident. It just kind of – I don’t know what happened! Just one day I was like, ‘Yeah I wanna get dreads like Bob.’ Bob Marley is a massive inspiration of mine.”
Wait: we’re pretty sure dreads don’t just happen ‘by accident’ Luke (and if they did we’d be living in fear of waking up with them unexpectedly).
Luke performed on Sunday at Fusion Festival in Birmingham to massive crowds, sharing the stage with fellow X Factor act Union J alongside The Wanted, Pixie Lott, Lawson and headliner Jessie J.
