He’s been rather a naughty boy for the majority of his time in the Chelsea set, but it seems that former Lothario Spencer Matthews has well and truly changed his ways. Apparently.
The loved up MIC star has decided to ditch the late nights in favour of staying in with new girlfriend Lauren Hutton, giving up booze for a full six months.
Now that’s dedication.
As the ninth series of the E4 show approaches, Spennie told us: “I enjoyed a drink every so often and now I’m just doing 6 months of not drinking at all.
“A: Just to see if I can do it and B: To see what it does. I’m trying to play more sport, go out less. Obviously having a girlfriend is helping to stay in at night and stuff but I’m not really tempted at all.”
He added: “It feels really nice. I certainly feel more mature.”
Ahh, good for you, Spencer!
After eight series and more than his fair share of broken relationships, could the King’s Road bad boy have had a total image overhaul?
BFF Jamie Laing told us that he was still in shock over the fact that his pal had settled into a proper relationship.
He said: “Who would have thought that? It’s because he’s sober and T-total at the moment. He’s like 70 days sober. He really loves his girlfriend.”
Girlfriend-in-question Lauren added: “We had an amazing time in St Barts and we’re very much in love, which is good. It all came from him, he’s really motivated to change, he’s just grown up I think.
Yeah, we’ll believe it when we see it. Bring on the new series!
Made in Chelsea returns to E4 at 9pm, Monday 13th April.
