Fresh from fall at the BRITs last month, Madonna has had another onstage foible.
Luckily for her, this one wasn’t quite as embarrassing (or painful).
As the 56-year-old queen of pop was making her way on stage at the Tidal launch event yesterday, she went to greet producer Deadmaus5 with a handshake.
Unfortunately for Madge, Mau5 decided to go for a high-five.
Both then tried to rectify the confusion by swapping from their initial gestures to match the other’s.
In the end the two decided to simply embrace each other and pretend the whole thing never happened.
To be fair to Madonna, it’s pretty difficult not to look awkward around a man with a giant mouse head.
Earlier today Madge defended Jay-Z’s re-launch of music streaming service Tidal, the first ever artist-owned platform which gives stars the power to take control of how their music is consumed.
Online critics have since claimed that stars who have signed up, including Beyonce and Rihanna, had only come together for a cause that serves to better their own financial gain.
Hitting back on MazSight, Madonna wrote: “Tidal is not about consumption and greed! Its about protecting an art-form that is beloved to all of us MUSIC! #rebelhearts stand together for what they believe in.
“Everything will be explained and revealed in time! Have Faith! And remember nothing is for free! This is a universal LAW. Somewhere-Somehow-Someone has to pay. There is always an exchange. #truth. #tidal.”
