Madonna is just full of revelations this week, and the latest is that she enjoyed a very brief relationship with the late rapper Tupac Shakur back in the glory days of ’94.
And that’s not all, oh no, on top of announcing their short-lived romance, the 56-year-old also divulged that dating the rapper left her feeling “very gangsta”, with Tupac making her “all riled up”.
Yes, you heard correctly, Madge had a ‘gangsta’ phase. WE LOVE IT.
Speculation about the two stars enjoying eachother’s company, if you know what we mean, first surfaced absolutely yonks ago, but Madonna hasn’t before commented on whether or not the rumours were true.
Now, speaking to Howard Stern on his radio show, the singer referred back to a specific David Letterman interview of the 90s, telling the host: “I was mad at David when I said the F-word a lot.
“I was in a weird mood that day. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is, he got me all riled up about life in general.
“So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta.”
And Tupac isn’t the only one of her ex-beaus who she has been dishing the goss on of late, with the star revealing just yesterday that she felt like a “prisoner” during her seven-and-a-half year marriage to British director Guy Ritchie.
Speaking to The Sun, Madonna divulged: “I think when you get married you have to be willing to make a lot of compromises and that’s fair enough. I think that’s the way it goes in relationships.
“However, you know, I did find myself sometimes in a state of conflict. There were many times when I wanted to express myself as an artist in ways that I don’t think my ex-husband felt comfortable with.
“There were times when I felt incarcerated. I wasn’t really allowed to be myself.
“It doesn’t mean that marriage is a bad thing. But if you’re an artist you’ve got to find someone who accepts who you are and are comfortable with that.”
And perhaps somebody who brings out another side of you too, eh? We don’t know, maybe something like your “gangsta” side?
