Television network ABC has decided to axe “Manhattan Love Story,” making it the first cancellation of the fall TV season. The Tuesday night romantic comedy series reportedly set a new ratings low this week.
The series, which debuted on Sept. 30, received a rating of 4.7 million viewers in its pilot episode but dropped to 2.7 million by its fourth episode. The comedy, starring Analeigh Tipton and Jake McDorman, focusses on the couple’s relationship, and was set in the Big Apple. To fill the slot for its Tuesday line-up, ABC will reportedly have two back-to-back episodes of “Selfie,” starting Nov. 4.
The freshman sitcom “Selfie” starring Karen Gillan and John Cho debuted alongside “Manhattan Love Story” and has received better ratings than the latter.
ABC’s hit drama, “How to Get Away With Murder,” which stars Viola Davis, was picked up for a full season, E! News reported.
