Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon might have been trying to make us believe that there were no bitter, heartbroken, nasty feelings between them after they filed for divorce last year, but Mariah’s latest song proves that their relationship is anything but amicable.
Eek, step aside Taylor Swift – there’s a new Queen of Slay in town.
The 45-year-old music icon dropped her new single ‘Infinity’ yesterday, and originally we were so excited by the 90s-esque vibe of her tune that we almost didn’t notice the jibes that she was making against her ex.
We mean, seriously, IT IS SO RUDDY OBVIOUS.
Take this line for example: “Talkin’ ’bout you’re mad, could it be that you just lost the best you’ve ever had”?
And then she even appears to take a swipe at Nick’s fame: “Boy you actin’ so corny like Fritos, wouldn’t have none of that without me, though”.
Ouch, and this owing people angle seems to be a recurring theme, with Mariah later warbling: “Is it lack of ice got you so cold? Have you ever felt this on your own?
“Why you tryin’ to play like you’re so grown? Everything you own boy, you still owe.”
Can we have some ice for that burn please?
This isn’t the first time that Mariah has penned a diss track, with her battle with rumoured ex lover Eminem being well documented in a series of vicious songs between the two, including Mariah’s hit single ‘Obsessed’ that featured a lookalike of the rapper practically stalking Mimi.
Eek, she doesn’t exactly go for subtlety, does she?
As if to rub salt into the wound, Mariah showed Nick exactly what he was missing as she rocked up to Las Vegas last night ahead of her new residency.
The total babe looked utterly amazing as she donned a sheer, embellished dress for the occasion, and documented the entire thing over on her MazSight page.
Because, y’know, what better way is there to show your ex husband that you are totally over them?
