TOWIE star Mario Falcone has apologised for being caught on camera snorting what appeared to be cocaine back in June.

Speaking to ‘The Sun on Sunday’ Mario said: “I would like to publicly apologise to my loyal family and friends, all of my co-stars on TOWIE, to ITV and most importantly to all of the fans.”

Mario – who was suspended from the ITV2 show amidst the allegations – reckons that he used his break in filming to get ‘professional help’.

He said: “After a few personal issues, I went off the rails. I have been seeking professional assistance and am now fit and well.”

Meanwhile, Mario has admitted he is keen to return to the show as soon as producers will allow him.

He said: “I hope that the producers and ITV will see my genuine remorse and consider allowing me to return to the show.”

Well, we would think so – seeing as he’s already done Celebrity Big Brother it was either that or Tumble…

Even though we wouldn’t mind seeing ol’ Falcone in the spandex leotards.

Mario was suspended from The Only Way Is Essex after footage leaked which appeared to show him snorting a line of mystery white powder.

The video was obtained by The Sun and showed what appears to be Mario leaning over a kitchen top with a rolled up piece of paper and sniffing the substance.

The paper claims that the 26-year-old was caught in the act at an after party at a flat in Essex.

A TOWIE spokesperson told Mirror Online at the time: “Mario won’t be going out to Marbella while the matter is being looked into.”

Mario was due to start filming with his cast mates in Spain that week.

A source told The Sun at the time: “This video could be the end of Mario’s television career.

“He’s become an important part of the show in the last three years but the show doesn’t make exceptions for anyone when it comes to drugs. He should know that.

“The show is watched by millions and is in its 11th series now so producers are certainly in a position where they can drop characters who are more trouble than they’re worth.”

This isn’t the first ‘drugs scandal’ to hit TOWIE – earlier this year James Locke was caught in possession of drugs leaving his future on the show in the balance.

While James Bennewith aka ‘Diags’ was also pictured digging his keys into a suspicious looking clear plastic bag at a festival.
