Mario Falcone TOWIE Return: ‘I’ve Grown Up Since Cocaine Drug Video Scandal’

Just months ago he was caught up in a drugs scandal after being filmed allegedly snorting cocaine at a party.

But TOWIE‘s Mario Falcone says he was “too arrogant” and is now all grown up and ready for his TV return following his suspension from the show.

With his tail firmly between his legs and clearly feeling the cone of shame, Mario told the Mirror: “The industry we are in and the age I am, you do things that are out of character and very immature and that is part of growing up. I think it was just part of growing up.

“It wasn’t a dark place or anything like I have been in the past, it was just stupidity. It is a lesson learned. It is what it is. Legally I have been advised not to talk about it too much.”

The 26-year-old says he received plenty of support from family, fellow cast members and friends following the release of the footage, adding: “It was hard not to be part of it, and when it came out it was hard, but the support from fans, my family, a lot of the cast, made it a lot easier.

“In life you get sent these things and you can either let it break you or it can make you stronger. I believe it has made me stronger, so onwards and upwards.

“The funny thing was the timing was quite fortunate. I had just had my nephew so it wasn’t perfect but it was OK because I had other focuses. I got to spend six months with my nephew, see him grow up and be an uncle.”

So it all worked out in the end then? How fortunate…

After slamming the show for being ‘more scripted than Corrie’, Mario appears to have done a full 180 on that too, conveniently kissing some serious behind ahead of his return.

He added: “I was ready to come back and my attitude towards the show had changed too. I think I have got more energy towards it, I have done a lot on the show: been engaged, broke up with my girl after two years. So yeah it was easy to all of a sudden feel resentful.

“Now I am excited. Especially being in Ibiza, we have never done this on the show before.”

We bet you’re excited to be paid to go to Ibiza, Mario…

He admitted: “It was a needed break, I think. I have been doing the show for three years and I think my attitude had become a bit lacklustre.

“I had become a bit arrogant with it all. I think I needed a reminder that I am very fortunate to be in the position.”

Mario goes on to say he hopes he finds a nice new girlfriend to settle down with while partying in Ibiza (because it’s the perfect place to do that, obvs) and that now that he’s a grown up, he wants a baby.

He added: “My sisters and my mum are trying to push me to settle down and have all that. I think I could if I met the right girl.”
