Maroon 5 helped to give unsuspecting brides and grooms across Los Angeles a little something extra on their Wedding day, by turning up at the reception to give a surprise performance of their new single ‘Sugar’.
Seriously, why weren’t we invited to ANY of these weddings? This is something that we would definitely have put in the airmiles for.
Enlisting the help of the actual director of 2005 film ‘Wedding Crashers’, David Dobkin, the group kick off their new video with lead singer Adam Levine revealing: “We’re going to drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can – it’s going to be awesome.”
And he wasn’t wrong.
At each venue, the film crew rush into the wedding reception to set up a huge white screen whilst the band prepare backstage and wedding guests look on in confusion.
Once the band are ready to go, the sheet drops to reveal the absolutely friggin’ huge musicians performing ‘Sugar’, with the stunned newlyweds’ faces transforming from complete and utter shock to mass hysteria in approximately 0.56 seconds.
We mean, we know that brides are supposed to be notoriously against anybody upstaging them on their special day, but we feel like if anyone can get away with stealing their thunder it is most definitely super-hunk, Adam.
Although we’re not too sure how the grooms would feel about that…
On second thoughts, the grooms look fine.
Speaking about making the video, 35-year-old Adam said: “It was an out of body experience.
“I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests.
“Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.”
Well Adam, if you want to hang onto that ‘unforgettable feeling’ for a bit longer, feel free to surprise us with an impromptu Maroon 5 performance anytime.
