Meghan Markle and Prince Harry lost another royal staff member after Kate Middleton fired her loyal aide.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lost another member of their staff. According to Hello! Magazine, Prince Harry and Markle bid a sad farewell to Samantha Cohen who has been serving them as their private secretary. The news was announced on the Court Circular on Friday.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex this afternoon received Ms Samantha Cohen upon relinquishing her appointment as Private Secretary to Their Royal Highnesses,” the announcement read.
Prince Harry and Markle have hired Fiona Mcilwham to take over Cohen’s post. Mcilwham, 45, was the former British Ambassador to Albania. She won the favor the of the palace officials who wanted to hire a joint private secretary from within the royal household roster.
It wasn’t the first time Prince Harry and Markle lost staff. In 2018, it was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex lost three aides in six months. This prompted the rumors that Markle was difficult to work with. However, some didn’t agree and even praised the duchess’ work ethics.
The news of Prince Harry and Markle bidding goodbye to a staff comes shortly after it was reported that Middleton fired a loyal aide. The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly shocked Kensington Palace when she sacked Sophie Agnew, 32, who served as her personal assistant for seven years.
“Sophie worked so hard for Kate,” one of her friends said. “She loved her job and made a lot of sacrifices. Sophie has only just got married and returned from the honeymoon.Everyone’s been really shocked because it was so unexpected. It seems like extreme cost-cutting.”
According to Emily Webber, Middleton’s loyal aide fell victim to Prince William and Prince Harry’s break-up as the duchess made her post redundant following Agnew’s return from her honeymoon.
In related news, Prince Harry and Markle were able to restore their glory after enduring negative headlines all year long when they visited South Africa. However, the couple lost the adoration they have just renewed when they declared war against the press.
