Meghan Markle officially returned to her royal engagements this week after her four-month maternity leave.

Following her outing, body language expert Judi James told Express that it was evident that Prince Harry’s wife was keen to get back to business. The Duchess of Sussex also managed to emphasize her traits of being tactile, natural, and friendly.

“This is Meghan stripped of all the Hollywood glam and royal formality just getting on with a job that means a lot to her in terms of her core values. All her body language in these poses suggest very direct communication via unsubtle tie-signs to register the fact that she’s among people she considers friends… Her smiles are very direct, involving the kind of knowing head-tilt of recognition that suggests she’s happy to be back at work,” James said.

The body language expert also said that Markle’s smiles during her outing involved more than the usual royal smile. She also did some eye-narrowing and wrinkling. The “Suits” alum was oftentimes spotted raising her rounded cheeks, which suggests genuine happiness and enthusiasm.

“She holds her hands high as she greets her hosts to act as an announcement gesture to let them know there’s a warm greeting involving a partial hug on its way and her raised brows and teeth-baring smile as she chats signal recognition and excitement,” James said.

But there was also one instance wherein Markle displayed feelings of tension. James said that Prince Harry’s wife sometimes touched her hair. But the gesture may also have been done because it was quite windy during her public engagement.

Markle launched her Capsule Collection in partnership with smart Works. During the outing, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed in a white long-sleeved polo shirt and dark trousers that were cut off at the ankle. She also accentuated her attire with her Ralph Lauren belt with a gold buckle and her Manolo Blahnik pumps.
