It would have been AMAZING!
But Mel B has now denied that former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham will be joining her at judges’ houses on the new series of The X Factor.
Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Celebrity at the X Factor Wembley auditions on Friday, Mel confirmed that her mystery mentor will NOT be Posh.
Crushing our reunion dreams (let’s be honest, they were two of the best), the 39-year-old said that, although the pair were still close, she hadn’t asked for her help.
She told us: “Victoria’s a friend but she won’t be joining me at judges’ houses.”
But we thought an impromptu rendition of Viva Forever was on the cards? No?
Mel dropped one almighty hint that VB WOULD be joining her on her Twitter account last month, posting a snap of the pair under the caption: “We mean business.”
YOU’VE BEEN TEASING US, MEL!
Mel also rubbished rumours that she’d already been lined up to mentor the groups category (she HAS got the experience.)
She told us: “Don’t believe the rumours. I think any category anybody gets this year is going to be amazing as they’re all really good.”
While Cheryl seemed excited about finding new talent, she told us that she wasn’t looking forward to people singing her old songs back to her.
She said: “They always tend to sing Fight For This Love or Parachute. Songs I’m sick of.. There are a few if I’m honest.
“You hear what they’re singing and you’re sitting there thinking ‘I hope you do it differently’ but you’ve just got to remember, for each person it’s their first time singing it so you have to give them that focus.”
She also admitted that she’s been staying in contact with her old acts including Cher Lloyd and Alexandra Burke.
Chezza said: “I just went to The Bodyguard not long before Alexandra started but I do want to go back, I reckon she’s incredible in there.
“I’ve been speaking to Cher briefly, her album’s out this week so she’s back over here working and she’s had massive success over in the US so yeah it’s amazing really when you look at everyone that’s come from the show, we’ve done great.”
Perhaps one of them might make an appearance at judges’ house?! Fingers crossed!
