We all know he’s a sensitive soul and it seems that audience heckling got a bit too much for poor old Morrissey during a gig in Poland earlier this week.
The former Smiths frontman, whose current tour has been plagued by cancellations, stormed off stage after just 25 minutes on Wednesday after one fan hurled some rather nasty abuse at him.
CAN EVERYONE NOT HURL ABUSE AT MORRISSEY, PLEASE?!
The 55-year-old, who has been rather poorly in recent months got understandably upset when someone heckled him about his recent cancer treatment between songs.
Probably NOT the funniest thing to joke about yeah, guys?!
Moz was about to speak to the crowd in Warsaw when someone in the front row interrupted him and apparently said something ‘extremely offensive and chauvinistic.’
CAN EVERYONE NOT INTERRUPT MORRISSEY TO BE EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE AND CHAUVINISTIC, PLEASE?
Visibly upset after the jibe, the music icon stopped what he was saying and said: “Is that funny? That wasn’t very nice.”
He then walked off of the stage during a guitar solo… never to return.
Morrissey recently admitted that he has been in and out of hospital over the last 18 months to have cancerous cells removed.
He told a Spanish newspaper: “They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already, but whatever. If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good.
“I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unHealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”
Live Nation posted a statement on Facebook following the concert, which read: “In the course of today’s concert for an indication of the barn in Warsaw, one of the spectators standing close to the scene said extremely offensive and chauvinistic words at the artist.
“The situation had forced the artist to leave the scene.”
Fans were understandably very disappointed that they only got 25 minutes of Moz action, with one person telling MailOnline:
“Someone shouted out something about him having cancer and he asked security to remove him.
“And then he just walked off stage and didn’t come back. I paid 50 quid for this ticket, not to mention the flight and hotel, for just 25 minutes.”
Everyone at the concert HAS been offered the chance to go and see the star perform for free at his Krakow gig on Friday night, to make up for it.
Moral of the story: ALWAYS BE NICE TO MORRISSEY.
