ICYMI because you’ve been living under a rock or something, last night saw the MTV EMAs return to bonny Scotland with more stars than you could shake a long, pokey stick at.
Along with some decidedly dodgy kilt flashing (we’re looking at you Redfoo), there were some actual real awards handed out – mostly to One Direction, of course.
Just a shame they weren’t let off to PAR-TAY for one night, aye? GOD.
It was a busy night for the boys, as they also performed sort of live (definitely not live) on The X Factor before heading to the awards ceremony in digital mode. Technology these days, huh?
Predictably, wonderfully and er, thankfully, the boys were the big winners of the night as they picked up the heavy-looking, world-shaped trophies for Best Live, Best Pop and Biggest Fans, NATURALLY.
Mainly because you lot aren’t half good at doing that voting business, so well done you really.
Since they couldn’t be there in person, 1D (minus Zayn who was mysterious absent from the whole affair. Probably making his hair look even more incredible) sent a video message to thank us all personally (sort of) for being so good to them and giving them the biggest fans award.
Harry said: “We’re so sorry we can’t be with you tonight. Thank you so much for this, the award for Biggest Fans.
“Because of that we obviously, obviously want to thank our incredible fans – thank you so, so much for all your support. We can never thank you all enough.”
You’re so welcome love.
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj was holding up the fort at the Scottish awards themselves with a ridiculous EIGHT WHOLE OUTFIT CHANGES and more foul language than an episode of Geordie Shore.
Not that anyone really cared since they were too busy LOVING HER.
She started the show as she meant to go on, opening with: “What the f*** is good Glasgow? It’s November and it’s the EMAs. Sit back, relax and get ready to turn the f*** up.”
She did later apologise for cursing, but also reminded the audience who she was so that everyone could go back to not really caring about the swears.
OH, and she also rallied them up with her own actual Scottish rap tribute to The Proclaimers’ ‘I’m Gonna Be,’ which was RUDDY AWESOME.
Good job, Nicki.
All-in-all, the night was basically one mahoosive success, so well done everyone that was involved. Can we pat ourselves on the back for merely voting? Yes, yes we can.
