Myleene Klass Takes On Ed Miliband And Channels Her Inner Paxman

Myleene Klass surprised viewers last night as she went all Jeremy Paxman on Ed Miliband during a televised debate.

Yes, THAT Myleene Klass of Hear’Say fame.

The 36-year-old Loose Women panelist locked horns with the Labour leader over his pledge to impose a new policy on mansion tax during live ITV debate, ‘The Agenda’.

Myleene blasted Ed, saying: “For me, it’s so disturbing – the name in its own right: ‘mansion tax’.

“Immediately you conjure up an image of these Barbie-esque houses, but in London, which is where 80 per cent of the people who will be paying this tax actually live, have you seen what that amount of money can get you? It’s like a garage.

“When you do look at the people who will be suffering this tax, it’s true a lot of them are grannies who have had these houses in their families for a long, long time.

“The people who are the super-super rich buying their houses for £140million, this is not necessarily going to affect them because they’ve got their tax rebates and amazing accountants. It’s going to be the little grannies who have lived in those houses for years and years.”Myleene Klass Takes On Ed Miliband And Channels Her Inner Paxman

Mr Miliband attempted to understand Myleene’s point of view, responding: “I totally understand that people don’t like paying more in tax. The values of my government are going to be different to the values of this government.”

Of course it didn’t take long for Twitter users to start making comments on the decidedly odd pairing of adversaries.

Many viewers were impressed by Myleene’s skill to go toe to toe with Ed, with one writing: “Ed Miliband is currently being schooled by Myleene Klass on his mansion tax policy. That political heavyweight.”

However, others were quick to point out that Myleene, a millionaire herself, was holding out of touch opinions.

One user blasted: “Myleene Klass, worth £10m, thinks a £250 a month mansion tax is unfair. Meanwhile, 30,000 forced from homes by bedroom tax. Fine with that?”

A ‘Just Giving’ account has now been set up in honour of the singer, titled ‘Help Myleene Klass Pay Her Mansion Tax’.

Oh dear.

Still, you can’t deny Myleene knows how to hold her own in an argument. She has all the makings for an excellent party whip.
