“NCIS: Los Angeles” executive producer Frank Military and series star Eric Christian Olsen are getting into business together for their next project. The duo is currently working on “Cascadia,” a new crime drama being developed for CBS through Olsen’s production label Cloud Nine.

According to Deadline, the potential CBS series will follow an FBI agent who has a skill of hunting down serial killers in her field. Returning to her hometown in the Pacific northwest, she comes upon a new mystery involving a series of murders that could expose her family’s dark past. “Cascadia” is being co-written and executive produced by Military and Olsen with novelist Pierce Brown.

Military has been a part of “NCIS: Los Angeles” since the show’s second season. Olsen was made a series regular on the program during the same installment.

Olsen is best known as Detective Marty Deeks on the police procedural series, which is currently in its 11th season. Audiences may also know him from the 2001 comedy “Not Another Teen movie” and the short-lived 1999 comedy series “Get Real” on Fox. Olsen started Cloud Nine Productions where he began as an executive producer for “Woke”, a show for the streaming platform Hulu starring Lamorne Morris that is currently in development.

Military started off as a co-executive producer during the second season before rising through the ranks to become executive producer from Season 7 onwards. His relationship with CBS started with the original series “NCIS” as a producer as well as other CBS shows like “Jericho”, “The Unit”, and “Three Rivers” before landing an EP role for “NCIS: Los Angeles”.

Brown is a science fiction author who’s best known for his “Red Rising” series. His best-selling books are already in development as a TV series.

CBS currently has dozens of shows in development, including a spinoff of their crime procedural series “FBI” called “FBI: Most Wanted” and Edie Falco’s new comedy series “Tommy”. There is no current release date for “Cascadia”, but viewers may see it sometime during the next broadcast season in 2020.
