Ed and Niall are back together – YAY!
Ed Sheeran was papped having the time of his life with old pal Niall Horan in a Las Vegas night club over the weekend.
The pair looked like they were having a whale of a time as they partied the night away after the iHeartRadio festival on Saturday night with other celeb pals, including Macklemore, Marvin Humes, and David Guetta.
And we have to admit, seeing the boys rekindling their bromance is quite a relief following allegations that they had fallen out in kind of a BIG way.
Ed has been besties with the One Direction boys for quite a while now, so when rumours of a rift between our fave ginger popstar and Niall surfaced a couple of months ago it was a very scary time.
Especially as the alleged feud was apparently because Niall had broken rule one of the bro code and slept with Ed Sheeran’s then girlfriend, Ellie Goulding.
This is just like a celeb version of EastEnders, isn’t it?
It all started when Ed released ultimate tune ‘Don’t’ back in April, which basically everybody quickly assumed was about the 23-year-old’s short lived romance with 27-year-old Ellie last year.
Mostly because it was so ruddy obvious and included incredibly subtle references in the lyrics, such as: “I reckon she was only looking for a lover to burn”.
But the plot thickened as Ed went on to reveal that the ~mystery girl~ (Ellie) then cheated on him with one of his mates, the lyrics read as follows: “You didn’t need to take him to bed that’s all/ And I never saw him as a threat/ Until you disappeared with him to have sex of course,
“It’s not like we were both on tour/ We were staying on the same hotel floor.”
And word on the grapevine is that this guy Eddie ‘never saw as a threat’ was Ireland’s very own Niall, who was also linked to Els around about the same time.
It’s all pretty scandalous stuff.
Ed did little to dismiss the rumours either, saying that Don’t is “100% true”, and even going on to reveal that he could have got even nastier.
While speaking on a US radio show recently, the host attempted to put an end to the rumours and asked Ed outright if somebody from One Direction had helped to inspire the hit.
Ed pretty much confirmed that they did by refusing to deny the claims, stating: “The papers say a lot of things, I’ve kept my mouth shut about everything.
“I didn’t really come out of the situation upset, I was just p*ssed off. I just thought it was a bit disrespectful.”
Erm, yeah – just a little bit.
And if the rumours surrounding the song are as true as they appear to be, let’s just hope that Ellie’s latest squeeze, Dougie Poynter, is wary.
Because to be honest, as much of a great song that ‘Don’t’ is, we don’t want to be listening to a McBusted version if it comes at the cost of Dougie’s broken heart.
Please be gentle with him, Ellie.
