Olly Murs has again proved that he’s one of the nicest guys in pop by surprising a teenage fan who was tragically diagnosed with cancer in January of this year.
Olly made all of Rebecca Dalgleish’s dreams come true when he met her backstage at his show in Glasgow last week.
Our hearts have honestly just skipped a beat. SORRY.
With the help of children’s charity Rays of Sunshine alongside the Sunday Post, plans were made for the 17-year-old to meet Mr Murs himself when she attended his concert last Wednesday.
And of course, it was an experience she’ll NEVER forget.
Speaking about her night, Rebecca said: “It was absolutely amazing. A great surprise.
“Olly was lovely. He asked about my diagnosis and said I was pretty brave. He genuinely seemed to care, which was nice.
“I still haven’t been able to wipe the smile off my face. It was an experience I’ll never forget.”
Rebecca is one brave lady, and has said she’s determined to life life to the full after her cancer diagnoses.
The teenger from north Berwick, Scotland, is even dedicating her last days to raising money to help others battling life-shortening illnesses, and has been flooded with messages of support.
She has so far collected an incredible £30,000 for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), and we’re sure that figure will continue to rise and rise!
Rebecca, who turns 18 in June, has said: “I don’t want to die in vain, I want to be remembered for making a difference for others.
“Time is ticking for me and there is so much I want to do in terms of fundraising and raising awareness of teenage cancer and of CHAS.”
We’re sending all our love and thoughts to the amazing Rebecca during this tough time.
