Just days after One Direction released their Zayn-less tour poster and reopened our not-yet-healed wounds that formed when Zayn Malik quit, Modest! Management have released the band’s first official promo photo as a four piece.
We know this is probably a sign that it’s time to accept things, but it all just feels far too soon. Still.
It doesn’t help that all four of them look sadder than tired little puppies.
If we had an endless pot of money, we’d definitely whisk the boys away, wrap them up in blanket hugs and hug them until they felt happier.
Okay, so this ‘new’ photo is actual just the tour photo with all the jazzy colours rinsed out, but if anything, that just makes the whole thing even more sad.
Liam legit looks like he’s about to cry, Niall’s got an imaginary glass ready to catch his tears (and a flood of tears of his own), Louis’ ready to fight anyone who dares say any cruel and Harry’s just done with it all.
And us? Yep, we’re echoing all of their sad, tired and stressed faces.
Even though they look more attractive than a bar of chocolate after a long day, you can see just how much all of this drama has impacted on them, right?
If that wasn’t enough to get you reaching for the tissues, Modest! have even re-written their bio on their site and literally erased any mention of Zayn’s name.
So that’s really charming of them.
The first paragraph of the bio now reads: “One Direction are Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan. In just over five years together they have impressively sold more than 50 million records, have achieved a total of 91 number ones and performed to over 7.5 million fans worldwide.”
You can erase his name from your site, but you can’t erase it from everything else, guys.
Just because they’re a four piece now, doesn’t mean Zayn is suddenly non-existant. He left because he was rundown, stressed and had no time to relax, so to not even give him a mention for all his ridiculously hardwork is crazy.
And actually pretty rude. His high notes deserve a paragraph all to themselves at least.
The only tiny glimmer of hope comes from the bio’s last sentence, which reads: “In April 2015 the band started working on their 5th studio album set to be released later in the year.”
Obviously the prospect of new music is super exciting, but we’re still struggling to raise a smile (just like the boys) after seeing this four-piece photo and Zayn being unnecessarily deleted from everything.
