EVERYBODY BREATHE. Wipe away those tears and maybe treat yourselves to a few chocolate digestives or something, because a rep for One Direction has denied those claims that the boys would ‘go on a break’ next year.
THANK YOU LIFE, and also this denial for allowing us to breath again.
In case you missed the moment a collective gasp could be heard around the fandom and, if you listened carefully, you could hear the tears falling to the ground, here’s what happened.
An insider told The Sun that the boys could be going on a break (WE WERE ON A BREAK) next year after promoting their upcoming fifth album, with it being “almost certain” that we’ll hear no 1D music in 2016.
Apart from their songs that we’ll be putting on repeat on our iPod for the entire 12 months, of course.
The source claimed: “The band are to go on a break after promoting the fifth album next year, possibly with a number of live tour dates around the world.
“Simon Cowell is supportive of what they need to do because he wants the band to stay together in some form for a very long time.
“They have been working non-stop for five years, sold millions of albums and become some of the biggest celebrities in the world. At some point they have to take time off to step back and consider what they want to do next. What’s almost certain is there will be no 1D music next year.”
Cue: Intense sobbing and genuine fear.
The source continued on to say that Louis Tomlinson was “very much in contention” for a place on the X Factor judging panel, adding: “The reality is that once a boyband takes a break, it’s often the beginning of the end. They’re adults now and have their own interests.
“Niall, Louis and Liam would want to get back together after the break but the big question mark is over Harry, who has lots of options.”
As much as we’re sobbing, it’s also worth baring in mind that in reality, these boys really DO deserve a good break considering how ridiculously hard they’ve worked and how non-stop it’s all been over the past five years.
They do deserve some time off to maintain a Healthy mental and physical state, after all.
However, a rep has now spoken out to deny all of this, saying: “It’s all pure speculation and not based on any facts.
“The band are excited about their brand new fifth album and their upcoming tour.”
Fingers crossed these boys do get some time to chill out on the sofa with some cheesy films and even cheesier snacks ASAP, but we’re glad they’re staying put for now,.
