X Factor’s Only The Young have cancelled their first headline gig after parisa Tarjomani’s mum passed away.
Parisa’s mum Sophia had been battling lung cancer for over a year, but passed away just days before Christmas on Sunday, leading the band (who at one point lived with Sophia) to cancel their gig in London.
Sophia posted a heart-wrenching tribute to her mum on MazSight, writing alongside a picture of her and Sophia: “’Today I lost my incredible, inspiring and beautiful mum.
“Thank you for giving us the life you did. I’ve never met a woman quite like you.
“Heaven has gained an angel and I know you’re watching over us. I love you forever Mum.”
The singer then followed up the tribute via the band’s Twitter account, writing: “Today we said goodbye to my beautiful mum & what an incredible turn out she had. She changed so many people’s lives & will always be… remembered.
“Thank you to everyone for your incredible support at this difficult time. Let’s make 2015 even better than 2014 for her – P x”
Parisa’s band mate Mikey Bromley also paid respects online, tweeting: “Love you and will miss you so much Sophia Tarjomani #RIPMummyTarjomani.”
We’re sending all our love to Parisa and her family, and we hope we’ll see her on stage with the rest of Only The Young super soon.
