He’s one of the music industry‘s living legends.
But we were left scratching our heads just a *little* bit when Sir Paul McCartney decided to promote his latest meat free campaign by doing an ACTUAL RAP.
And yes, there was an accent.
The 72-year-old filmed a video of himself urging people to join his Meat Free Monday campaign, which started out very normally.
But after outlining the campaign and asking people to visit his website, Paul decided to break into one HECK of a badass rap to liven things up a bit.
WHY THE HECK NOT, EH, MACCA?!
While we’re not sure if it was planned or just, you know, one of those spur of the moment raps, the Beatle seemed to…erm… get really into it.
We’re talking hand movements and a questionable Jamaican accent.
While we reckon that nothing can change our opinion of the music God, Twitter seemed a little bemused by the whole thing.
For some it seemed to, er, have the desired effect:
Although it seemed to actually drive someone to START eating meat. Bit Awkward.
Some thought that it didn’t matter that the rap was bad because it’s PAUL BLIMMIN’ MCCARTNEY YEAH, SO SIT DOWN.
Others had pretty mixed emotions about the whole thing…
While we’re totally confused about what to think, we reckon that it’s one of the best videos we’ve seen for AGES and it’s all for a good cause.
And yes, we do currently have it on repeat.
