She’s used to performing in front of thousands.
But Pixie Lott has said that she’s feeling nervous ahead of her time as a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking exclusively with Yahoo Celebrity UK at Fusion Festival in Birmingham, Pixie described the jitters she was feeling about the show compared to performing at a festival.
She said: “Before shows like [a festival] I don’t really get nervous because I’m just with my band, and singing my songs, and I love it and I love the crowd.”
“But for Strictly it’s going to be so different for me, I think I’m going to be nervous.”
It sounds like thinking about the judges isn’t helping things either. When asked who she was most afraid of on the panel Pixie replied, “All of them!”
It’s okay Pixie, Craig kind of terrifies us too. At least it sounds like she feels supported by her fellow contestants rather than threatened.
She said, “They’re all really good, even from the group rehearsal everyone is picking up the steps. Everyone seems really friendly.”
Of course Pixie isn’t the only pop star on this year’s Strictly. She’s joined by The Saturdays Frankie Sandford, though it sounds like there won’t be much of a rivalry between them.
Pixie said: “No me and Frankie are pals, we’ve been friends for awhile now. I was really happy when I found she was on the show!”
Despite her pre-show fears, it seems Pixie isn’t doing much to prepare for the physically gruelling contest. When asked if she was doing anything special to practice she laughed: “No! It’s coming on really fast and obviously I’ve been doing music and festival and stuff for my album so I haven’t really done any prep. But that’s what the rehearsals are all about!”
We’ll have our fingers crossed for you this weekend Pixie!
